4” Retina Display is 288 PPI
Current iPhone 4 is 3.5” display with 960-by-640-pixel resolution at 326 PPI, if the 4” display rumor is true, then under same 960-by-640-pixel resolution, the PPI will be 288, and the size of the display will be 2.218 inches width, 3.328 inches height.
And don’t forget:
- Current iPhone 4 is 2.31 inches width, you may now start your imagination. (Man! I see an edge cutting display!)
- The other rumor said about iPad 2’s Retina Display is 2048x1536 resolution at 260 PPI.
- iPhone 3GS and earlier devices are using 3.5” display with 320x480 resolution at 163 PPI.
- If there’s 3.8” Retina Display, then the PPI will be 302.
